For a long time in SL, i have gone against the grain of what I see as the norm. Luckily I know a number of people who also share the same aim. Now when i say, go against the norm, i don't really mean that you have to do anything particularly special. But instead, follow your own sense of style and personality, not copy the style of others. After all, this is a virtual world, not the same world that we are confronted with in the real world where there are socially accepted norms, and socially constrained images of the ideal woman, or even the ideal man. Everyday we are confronted with images of unrealistic women, skinny, perfect skin, perfect hair, perfect lives....all these things that constrain us are all the things that Second Life should not be about. Yes, there will be "models" or magazines, cat walks and other similarities with the real world but should these be approached in the same way as they are in the real world?

I very much don't think so. Yes i love fashion in second life, but once a long time ago, i went to a "model casting" and was told my avie was too small and curvy. And would never make it in fashion in SL. Well, now i definitely don't agree with this statement. On a regular daily basis I have people asking me where i got my shape, and how beautiful it is. Now this isn't me being big headed, it is simply me pointing out that in our second lives, people should be able to identify and enjoy a variety of things. And the fashion that we enjoy here, should not be viewed with all the massive constraints we view it with in the real world.

Have a little bit of a sense of humour, and do what you enjoy here. Don't follow the crowd, second life, is no place for sheep!

This picture sprung from an idea i had in my head of doing a reflection of a Minnu skin, I wanted to make an entry to the MMS skin poster competition but seeing the end product I don't really think it would be what they are looking for.

I had so much fun making the picture though and am so glad i began the project. Although this particular picture is finished it was simply an exploration and I am glad I was able to make the picture in my head come alive on screen. I can see the places that I would change for future tinkering though, and O'm hopeful that this could make a good range of photos, using a variety of skins! Being a skin whore, this isn't a bad prospect =)

Boxing Day! Excitement of christmas is over for another year, leaving countless reindeer out of work....please be kind to those you find wandering the streets, nowhere to go, a life of leisure on their hooves until the following year!

Loved these free Reindeer antlers and blinking nose from SLEX freebie section! Worth a look for some inspiring little tit bits!

Christmas time has now come and gone, and it was a very different christmas for me this year. Normally i find myself surrounded by family and thinking, geez i wish i had a moment to myself. However this year, i had only my sister around, and i ironically found myself thinking, geez i wish all the family were together. I am now officially making a note to myself to enjoy as much time as possible with my family from now on, so precious as you don't quite know what you have until it is not with you! Cliche maybe, but very true.

So while i was enjoying the festivities of Christmas food and Christmas TV I found the time to visit SL, and received a few gifts from close friends. One gift in particular which was just adorable, was this Corgi (now i am just like the queen...or so I shall think in my pretty lil brain) From A.I.F Pets, it is the most adorable lil pup ever. I did want a RL pup this year for Christmas, but as i travel so much it probably wouldn't have been a very good idea. So this lil SL pup will keep me entertained for hours I am sure!

Also shown in this picture is an outfit bought for me by a friend, it's from a shop called Emery and the outfit itself is called 512 Street. Comes with a great set of purple tights, but also looks amazing teamed up with Minnu - Cachet Leggings (really like tights) in Pink!

Loved making this pic, reminded me of a New York type style which really appealed with the clothes and look!

Absolutely love the look of tights (pantyhose). They really do add that little something extra to an outfit! My friend George pointed out this Minnu set, purplish in my mind, but set is Pinks. I think they are perfect, especially for that cold winter morning, or for the naughty look I have going on here.

Always loved Last Call, designs that are simply amazing, I always seem to find a way to incorporate mixing and matching with all the pieces i own, and this layered tank was ideal for the naughty but nice next door neighbour look I have going on here!

Armidi shoes, because I love the look of them on, perfect for adding a little colour to set an outfit off or create a focal point to an outfit. Hair by cake, love it, adore their red hair and the comfortable flow of it!

Firstly...i have posted on blogs before, but due to RL got rather distracted and lost interest. I have though, come back with a renewed interest in the fashion of SL and in creating gorgeous photos to show off the amazing designers out there.

What I'd really like to do is work on my photoshopping skills, improve those and in doing this manage to show the designs and my personality off as it should be. I am a passionate person, and want this to come through in my work...maybe one day ill have a better computer to help with this task. (Slips into a daydream of Mac desktops with massive screens and an ability to actually go into Ultra mode, as opposed to the Low mode i usually find myself in!)
